Taylor Swift Is A "Bad Ass Bitch"

According to Jennifer Lawrence...

Excerpts of Apple letter
"This is not about me. Thankfully I am on my fifth album and can support myself, my band, crew, and entire management team by playing live shows. This is about the new artist or band that has just released their first single and will not be paid for its success. This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs."

"But I say to Apple with all due respect, it’s not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this. We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation."

I will say that Taylor Swift is a very confident young woman to have penned such a letter to Apple. However, if it weren't for her mass appeal and selling power her note would have been null and void falling upon deaf ears. When a filthy rich entertainer requests acts like what Taylor is seeking from Apple nine times out of ten it is because their voice has power and the company at hand will listen to that voice or lose out . I know a few artists who wouldn't even garner a whisper with a letter of this intent let alone a company like Apple considering their appeal.

I think it's grand that Taylor isn't mentioning this issue for her compensation but for the people who stand to make less than she even with Apple paying them during their 3-month trail. Yeah it's also nice Jennifer stated that her friend was a bad ass bitch for having her publicist penned such a letter on behalf of someone else but this isn't what I deem bad ass. Nice try though.

Taylor used her stardom to her advantage and in doing so Apple changed their policy.

Let me know when Taylor gives her starving song writers more than her cut.
