Saturday Night Live funnyman Kenan Thompson and his wife Christina Evangeline welcomed their first child into the world on June 20 in NYC. The couple are now the proud parents of Georgia Marie Thomspon who weighed in at 6 lbs. Earlier this year Kenan broke the news of the couple expecting their first child on his former SNL cast mate Seth Myers ' late night talk show. Anywho, congrats to the Thompsons. I'm sure the name Georgia as beautiful as it is has something to do with Kenan being from Atlanta. Source

Anndddddd she's African American!!! Miss Zamata is making history becoming only the fifth African American woman ever to be casted on the NBC sketch comedy. Sasheer's arrival comes on the heels of controversy majorly started by SNL cast members Kenan Thompson and Jay Pharoah due to the lack of diversity on the show. It was last fall that six new cast members joined the show and not one an AA comedian/actress. Well that's all changed now!!! Sasheer makes her debut on January 18...I can already see her as First Lady Michelle Obama side eyeing President Obama at Nelson Mandela's funeral. Mmmm mmmm ...I see you Lorne Michaels !! “The producers of  Saturday Night Live  would like to apologize to Kerry Washington for the number of black women she will be asked to play tonight…Ms. Washington is an actress of considerable range and talent and also because ‘SNL’ does not currently have a black woman in the cast. As for the latter reason, we agree this is not an ideal situation and look forward to rectifying it in the near future…unless, of course, we fall in love with another white guy first.”  I love how SNL downplayed Kenan Thompson's comments about the lack of black female comedians on SNL since Maya Rudolph's character left.
