After all the well wishes from fans/supporters and rejections from the Aaliyah Haughton 's family over the past two weeks Zendaya Coleman has opted out of the role of Aaliyah for Lifetime's biopic film Aaliyah: R&B Princess . The news has been confirmed by Lifetime as well as Zendaya who spoke out about her decision on the red carpet at the BET Awards last night in LA. We are sad Zendaya will no longer portray Aaliyah. Legendary soul singer Bobby Womack passed away Friday (June 27) at the age of 70. The news was confirmed by Womack's publicist Sonya Kolowrat but the cause of death has yet to be released. I have a soft spot for Mr. Womack's music. So much so that I don't care to share too much about what he/his music means to me but to simply highlight that I am a tremendous  fan of the man's work. RIP Mr. Womack!! I type this with the utmost sincerity and know that your music will live on far beyond many of our memories and imaginations.

As if anyone could... I want to love this matronly (to Kim only) look but the side boob is giving me mixed emotions. Love the skirt and the leotard I just don't know how I feel about them together. I didn't know Ciara was really getting married. Like really to the point someone would put her on the cover of a magazine devoted to all things wedding... like really . It looks like Chris Brown may have partied a little too hard after the BET Awards last night in LA. I'm not going to speculate what caused Chris to be carried out of the club. I'm concerned about the recent revelation that he is/was bi-polar and what drinking or any drug could do to one who suffers from the disorder. What's even more crazy is the thirst of getting the footage of Chris in this manner. You can hear girls screaming about getting a pic in an effort to publicize this incident for their personal gain whether it be financially or for social network ranking. Source

At some point people (celebs) need to know when to turn up and down. Judging by the fact that Floyd has never been married and displays little respect for women I am not surprised by his red carpet antics. But when is enough...enuff?!! On of my favorite performances during the BET Awards was a duet featuring Jhene Aiko and John Legend . The set belonged to John Legend who debuted a new song last night but it was his soulful collabo at the end of his set with Aiko that I remember fondly.         John's voice coupled with Jhene's is beyond melodic perfection.

What better way to state your status than to not attend an awards show yet still close the show with a performance? None!! And that's exactly what Beyonce and Jay Z did last night to close out the BET Awards. by IdolxMuzic I wonder how moments like these leave Beyonce and Jay Z's counterpart? Most opened their schedules to attend and some didn't win yet they were capable of closing the show in person but show execs went with the bigger names...hmmmmmmmm. BTW, three awards went to Beyonce last night in her absence including the Fandemonium Award .

The higher ups over at ABC's The View are cleaning house. Among the things getting thrown out are Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCartney while Whoopi Goldberg remains unharmed. You may not be but reportedly BET is... BET is gunning to air a  Chris Brown  reality show ... and they've already held focus groups to find out if viewers will flock to their sets or stay away. Multiple sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... BET has made it clear to several production companies ... the network would absolutely air a Chris Brown reality series, chronicling his life after jail. We're told several production companies are angling to sign Chris, but so far that hasn't happened.  If it does, we're told the show will get on the air. A focus group was held Tuesday in the San Fernando Valley ... asking participants if they'd watch a reality show in which Chris tries to stay on the straight and narrow -- free from violence and drugs.   We're told the group -- comprised entirely of African American females -- was split, but the majority said they'd watch to see if Chris would screw up. You already know Kelly Rowland loves Miami (she lives there) and some Beyonce so it was inevitable that she would attend the first On The Run tour show in...MIAMI!! She must be carrying a vampire in there...that bump keeps getting bigger by the glance.

Last night husband and wife duo Jay Z and Beyonce kicked off their highly anticipated On The Run tour in Miami. The couple opened the show with a collabo of " 03 Bonnie & Clyde ", among other collabos, while going back and forth allowing one another to take the stage solo. Now the below video has horrible audio BUT it allows you to get a glimpse of how the show opens and the flow of Jay and Bey performing together. I never will ever understand how people can pay top dollar to attend a concert only to sit there and tape the whole show on their phone. Even Beyonce agrees...to some extent.

Dearly Beloved, It was 30 year ago to THIS day in 1984 that Prince released his epic world renowned sixth album ' Purple Rain' . ' Purple Rain' is of course the soundtrack to Prince's ' Purple Rain' film which was loosely based on his life. Prince was able to shell out 5 hit singles from this album and went on to sell over 20 million copies. The best notable mention about ' Purple Rain ' is that to THIS day you can still play the album and jam to it like it's the first time " When Doves Cry " ever blessed your ears. Madonna 's teenage daughter Lourdes Leon is graduating from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in NYC later this month and just like any other senior in high school she took part in her school's senior activities. One of those activities was the prom over the weekend. Lourdes, almost an spitting image of her mother, was spotted with cigarettes noticeably in her purse while attending the prom after a pre-prom celebration at her house. Before you go getting up in arms, you should know that Lourdes has been a smoker for a while now in her teenage years....and her mother knows it. She was caught by photogs in the city when she was 15 smoking while her mother vowed to get stricter at the time it's obvious she hasn't quit. Should we be shocked that she is smoking or that she isn't hiding it because her parent(s) know? I'm almost shocked that children are so under dressed for the prom...
