Jay Z ushered in the grand opening of Brooklyn’s first stadium the Barclays Center on Friday night to a sold out crowd of 18,000. The stadium in the heart of Brooklyn is the hometown of Jay and is the new home to the Brooklyn Nets who Jay is part owner of. Friday’s performance is one of eight that Jay is headling through October 6 in his new “house”. Opening show with video footage of Brooklyn greats like Mike Tyson were shown to the tunes of “We Live In Brooklyn Baby” then Jay took the stage performing “Where I’m From” and “Brooklyn Go Hard”.   Jay told the crowd “I’ve performed in a lot places but nothing feels like tonight”. During the show Jay also took the time out to honor his late friend and fellow Brooklyn native Notorious B.I.G while his song "Juicy" played telling the crowd “sing loud so he can hear you in heaven” as well as offering a moment of silence. Nicki has managed to yet again further her brand by snagging a reality show. Not just any reality show but the mecca of all reality shows networks (if there ever was) E! is fronting the bill per Perez Hilton who claims the show is already taping. It looks as though American Idol is only the BEGINNING for Nicki Minaj ! And we couldn't be MORE THRILLED to hear it! We were delighted to sit down with the rapper on Monday at the launch of her new fragrance to discuss her role as a judge on the reality competition, new music on the way for her re-release of Roman's Revenge , and all sorts of other exciting creative endeavors! But apparently, according to sources close to Her Minajesty, she forgot to mention one tiny little project in the works: A REALITY TV SHOW! A tiresome looking Jay Z was seen last night attending the launch of the video game NBA 2K13 at his 40/40 Club in NYC. I guess it was only fitting for Jay to host the event being as though he executive produced the game. Anywho, notable attendees included rappers Meek Mill who performed, Bow Wow, and the beautiful Nas among many athletes including Kevin Durant, Kris Humphries and Derrick Rose. Also, Adrienne Bailon who I notice attends any and everything Jay has that is semi open to the public was there as well...she's such a fan. Let's check out the fellas...  Gotta love Twitter...and Instagram. The randoms: I thought Ronnie and Sam broke the hell up?!!! Decent event, I guess it was a good idea for Bey to sit this one out.

Lil Wayne turns the 3-0 today! Avril Lavigne turns 28 today! Gwyneth Paltrow turn the 4-0 today! (will we see Jay and Bey celebrating with her over the weekend?) The legendary Don Cornelius would have been 76 today...R.I.P!

I like this video. This may be Chris' attempt at being patriotic but I can't help but notice how sexy he could be minus the blonde hair. Enough about all that, I take a liking to videos that obviously involved some treatment and I'm not talking sexual favors from the video help . Anywho, the song is beautiful and the video is fitting. To be so rich and full of life it is evident to see that T.I. and Tiny are still very down to earth from the rearing of their children, their love for another and the ironing board in their hallway. Also, I forgot to wish T.I. a happy 32nd birthday yesterday. Hopefully he got the luxury vehicle of his choice along with a wonderful day and didn't even notice my rudeness.

LaLa Anthony stopped by the Power 105 studios for an interview with The Breakfast Club today where she not only promoted herself but she took the time to take up for her friend Kim Kardashian clarifying that Kim is NOT what she deems a "whore" and wishes that people who stop calling her such because it isn't funny. The POTUS and FLOTUS appeared for the first time together, ever, on daytime television yesterday on The View where the questions nor their answers ever seemed to stop.  At one point during the sit down it was obvious that a few people on that stage were nervous about republican Elizabeth Hasselbeck asking the President a question except Mrs. Obama. It's Mrs. Obama's "buttt" in response to Elizabeth's "I really do like you both" comment before introducing her question that cracked me up. It was the classiest yet most appropriate way of saying "cut the BS" that I've ever seen. Check out the President and Conan O'Brien's response to Elizabeth's question.

As promised Rihanna released her first single Diamonds from her 7th studio album, no title yet, this morning. I love it!

According to a less than thrilled excerpt from the Las Vegas Review Journal , Gloria Govan and Matt Barnes wed had this weekend in a very small wedding at a chapel in Las Vegas while in town with friends and family which included teammates Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan as well as Gloria's sister the long time girlfriend/fiance of Gilbert Arenas Laura Govan who was celebrating her birthday. "on Saturday. ... Matt Barnes of the Los Angeles Clippers, marrying Gloria Mendoza-Govan on Sunday at the Little Church of the West, with teammate DeAndre Jordan serving as best man. ..." Matt and Gloria called off their wedding and the entire relationship on two separate occasions within the last two years. The couple have two twin sons together. Congrats!

I haven't seen Kim with Kanye since the news of his sex tape came about. Could it be that Kanye is busy? Kim is in the middle of filming Kourtney and Kim Take Miami while back and forth to LA but when has filming allowed these two not to be publicly seen this much since becoming conjoined at black with one another? Could it be trouble in paradise? It's that time again for The Real Housewives of New Jersey to hash it out 4 against 1 as Part 1 of their Sesason 4 reunion will air this Sunday. I didn't need to see a promo or lurk Twitter looking for someone to spill the beans about the reunion to know that Caroline, Jacqueline, Kathy and Melissa double teamed Teresa to make their points relevant. Just like last year's reunion this will be the Teresa Goodeechey Show . And speaking of Season 3's reunion there was a lot of drama during that taping because they were also taping this season that we just finished up. Because of the season finale we just saw this past Sunday Jacqueline didn't show up to last season's reunion taping. How much of a great idea was it to film a reunion and a new season within 12 hours of one another? I'll post the preview for this Sunday's reunion but before I do I have a couple things I need to touch on regarding the whole "set up" at the Posche Fashion Show

Let me get back to this BS in a second...I'm more interested in how the courts feel about this guy still going to court because of a domestic violence case where his victim wishes him luck in court?  Rihanna's tweets were sent just before Chris went to court yesterday. Am I the only one that feels like this is a slap in the face to our justice system? A system that is set in place to protect victims of heionus crimes, but the victim in this case seems less than grateful is just unsettling. Maybe it's just me. Back to the post title, yesterday at Chris' probation hearing he was notified that he did not pass a drug test back in June while in Virginia fulfilling his community service requirement. Chris responded by saying that he didn't smoke but ingested the marijuana in Cali where he has a marijuana medical card. Da f**k?!! The judge has scheduled another hearing in November to rule on whether Chris violated his 5 year probation in any way even thoug

Only Madonna would take it upon herself to urge her fans at a recent DC concert to vote for the POTUS while dropping the F bomb and being blatantly incorrect. “Y’all better vote for f**king Obama, OK? For better or worse, all right? We have a black Muslim in the White House. Now that’s some amazing sh*t. It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man, goddamnit." Today the very handsome Will Smith turns an astonishing 44. I'm not saying 44 is old by far but it seems like just yesterday we were watching Master William reek havoc in the Banks home as a young man and now...wait! maybe it was yesterday when I watched  reruns of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ...? I don't know but, but what I do know is Will still looks dayum good and I hope he has a wonderful birthday!!

Rihanna's 7th studio album will be dropping in November and her newest single from the album will be dropping this Tuesday. The track is titled Diamonds and you can peep the cover artwork below. Yep she's rolling up diamonds as some would their reffa but she better hope no one begins to insinuate she's smoking rocks . Also Rihanna, who must hate sleep, has already released dates for her Diamond tour beginning next year in March. Can I assume the new album is titled Diamonds as well? Maybe, maybe not, but there are claims that the album will include the number 7 probably being 7 World Wonders hence Rihanna's new website will be Rihanna7.com, this being the 7th studio album and public records investigated by Directlyrics . We shall see.
