Get your tissues out. Check out Stuart Scott as he was honored at the ESPYS as well as his emotional acceptance speech. Stewart, an ESPN SportsCenter anchor, who is currently battling cancer and has been since 2007. He was awarded the Jim my V Award for his courageous fight against cancer which was presented by Kiefer Sutherland who just so happens to star in Stewart's favorite television show 24 .

Sooo my fav Drake hosted the 2014 ESPY Awards last night on ESPN. All the greats in sports and media were in attendance not including a few usual suspects that did not attend. Aywho, the show was funny at times, trying too hard at times and scripted at times but overall I loved the show. I had the opportunity to laugh and cry in one setting. It’s where I bled. It holds a special place in my heart. People there have seen me grow up. I sometimes feel like I’m their son. Their passion can be overwhelming. But it drives me. I want to give them hope when I can. I want to inspire them when I can. My relationship with Northeast Ohio is bigger than basketball. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now.

Oh, NO...say it ain't so!! Both sisters?!! Yep, both tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams on yesterday fell to the demise of their opponents during the French Open. Serena, the French Open's defending champ, lost in the second round to  Garbine Muguruza  of Spain. Sister Venus also was defeated yesterday by  Anna Schmiedlova of Slovakia  just before her sister played her disappointing match. The two sisters were expected by many to make it to the end for a Williams vs. Williams match. This setback for the Williams sisters just may be affording them the opportunity for a mega comeback. You can't win 'em all. With that said, I congratulate the Williams sisters on their successes and the history they've made over the years and I believe for many years to come. They're still champs in my eyes...black girls rock!!

Congratulations are in order for OKC Thunder frontman Kevin Durant who received the coveted Most Valuable Player award for the 2014 NBA season on Tuesday (May 7). For this honor Kevin accepted his new title via an emotional press conference where the ball player praised his teammates, most natoably Russell Westbrook , and gave a heartfelt dedication of his award to his mother, Wanda Pratt . Source I don't think I cried this much since watching The Best Man Holiday and that was fake!! What an honor for a mother to watch was she has planted grow into something so spectacular and to do so right before Mother's Day. Well done, Kevin (and Mom)...well done!!

A little birdie over at XXL had this to say about the matter... Cash Money Records may be getting into the sports game. The famed record label—home to Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj, to name a few—has filed a legal request to trademark the name Visionaire Sports Group, according to government records  obtained by  XXL . The label has expanded since its inception in 1991 to include a management company, Young Money (helmed by Weezy), a publishing arm, Cash Money Content, and its Trukfit clothing line. With Master P’s No Limit in 1998 and Roc Nation—under the direction of Jay Z—having established sports management and agency companies, YMCMB head honchos Birdman and Slim are setting themselves up to follow in their footsteps. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade were big notables last night at The 2013 ESPY Awards with their better halfs who looked amazing but they weren't the only 2013 NBA Champions in the building. Check out Ray Allen as well as coaches Erik Spoelstra and David Fizdale who were also in attendance. Congrats to the Miami Heat who won the Best Team award and LeBron James for sweeping the three awards he won last year again this year. Now can we get into some fashion? Savannah Brinson had to be one of my fav looks of the night in a Michael Costello gown. Love the belt for added spice. Not only does her look compliment her fiance's look but it looks great photographed and on her. Now where the hell was Chris Bosh ? Did Adrienne Bosh really turn down a chance to be photographed?

Chris Paul has been getting his fair share of press   as of recently at some LA hot spots and last night was no different after the baller signed a five year deal worth $108 million with the LA Clippers yesterday.  Chris was spotted after the the contract signing getting a bite to eat at BOA Steakhouse and ended his celebratory night at Bootsy Bellows . Oh, the brother wanted to be seen! Fame Flynet  If I started out the day a free agent and ended it a 108 million richer I'd be all smiles wanting to be seen as well. Congrats Chris!

Michael Jordan wed his girlfriend of five years the former Yvette Prieto in Palm Beach Florida on Saturday (April 27) in front of about 300 guests. The bride wore a gorgeous   J’Aton Couture gown sheer sheath and the groom wore his traditional tux. The Jordans were serenaded by the sounds of MC Lyte spinning records along with performances by K'Jon , Robin Thicke , and Usher . This wouldn't be a celebrity wedding without celeb guests of whom I spotted Donnie Simpson , Spike Lee , Tiger Woods , Patrick Ewing and Scottie Pippen just to name a few. Rihanna was spotted yesterday courtside at Game 1 of the Heat vs Bucks playoff game in Miami with her BFF Melissa by her side. Rihanna was in the Florida area for her Diamonds world tour with two shows, one in Tampa on Friday (April 19) and another in Miami on (April 20) where she was photographed with Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae Carter and her mother Toya Wright .

I guess so...or something like it. New York Yankees  second baseman  Robinson Cano , in the final season of a $57 million contract, has left agent Scott Boras to sign with a company founded by Jay-Z. Roc Nation, an entertainment company founded by Shawn Carter, also known as Jay-Z, announced Tuesday that it is getting into the sports representation business through a partnership with Creative Artists Agency (CAA). This arm of CAA will be known as Roc Nation Sports, which simultaneously announced that its first sports client is Cano. Cano, making $15 million this season, will be represented in baseball matters by CAA Sports' Brodie Van Wagenen. "At this point in my career, I am ready to take a more active role in my endeavors on and off the field," Cano said in a statement. "I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals. I am making this important decision now so...

In Houston Texas All-Star Weekend came to an end yesterday (Feb 187) with the NBA All-Star game at Toyota Center featuring the greats of league. Among the players from the West and East included various celebrity who took in the festivities with some of the closest seats in the house. Congratulations are in order for the West who took home the W as well as Chris Paul who won the MVP award but I can't leave out my boo Carmelo Anthony (East) who walked away with 26 points...he's always a winner in my heart!
