As my Memorial Day extended weekend came to an end I decided to watch the season three premiere of Basketball Wives on VH1 and I must say I wasn't disappointed. The first episode was full of drama and the preview of episodes to come were very fulfilling. Some may complain that this show is very embarrassing to black women, it is, and it's childish, it is, but damnit I like it, I'm just glad they're not in my "circle". I like to mix and match my reality shows which I am highly addicted to. I'm not that person that prays on the demise of anything reality, I want MORE.  I tend to lean towards the catty always drama filled shows but I do love a positive show as well. I am looking forward to Tia and Tamera Mowry's new reality show airing on the Style Network. I would put them in the Run's House category. Just in case I do what I really don't want to do, not blog until after the weekend, I would like to wish everyone a happy as well as safe Memorial Day. Remember what the day represents, not another day off and cook outs on overload, I want to send a huge shout out to our military personnel. Many of you will be at the beach kicking your Summer off but please PLEASE PLEASE be appropriate...every beach isn't a private beach!!! Yuck...kiddie porn! Today is the day media icon Oprah Winfrey will say a final good bye to her successful daytime talk show after 25 seasons (years) on television. It is unclear the type of format the final episode will be, whether there will be an audience or not, but boy would I love for her final guest to be Maria Shriver. I doubt it, but it would be nice, lawd knows we don't need another tribute or back down memory lane episode. Make it epic!! I along with most of the world can't wait to see what the future holds for Oprah. Whether it be in the spotlight, behind the scenes at her OWN Network, as well as who or if anyone will ever be able to fill her exemplary red bottomed shoes in daytime television. Just when you thought stans were the ultimate fans some fool with wayyyy too much time on his hands comes along... I didn't watch that mess!! Even if it is remotely as similar as people are professing, when did this become a crime in the music industry? Whatever happened to inspiration? Chicks have been copying   "inspired" by Beyonce for years, from the clothes, dances down to her hair but no one cares about that because most were an epic fail. If  Beyonce did copy this lady she looked dayum good doing so. (I'm getting in to stan mode more and more each day lol)

Keyshia Cole wed her  fiancé , Daniel "Boobie" Gibson of the Cleveland Cavaliers, this past Saturday which is speculated to have taken place in Cleveland. The couple's son Daniel, Jr., was also in attendance. Congrats to Keyshia...I don't know much about Boobie but I do know that Keyshia has had a lot of trials in her life, hopefully this is the happiness she's been deserving of!!! It's so cute how he mentioned wanting to date her in a video, someone told her and now look...they're married. I wonder what happened to the Bora Bora wedding she told US magazine about....mmmm mmmm I know I want to see the rest of Mrs. Gibson's dress!

I’m really big on self confidence. I feel that confidence is the deciding factor in how one’s life can turn out. You can be the most talented person in the world but without self confidence your ability to be successful can be hindered.  You ever see someone and wonder how in the hell they walked out the house looking the way they did? Well nine times out of ten their self confidence is on 100 and your   perception of them means little to shit to them. Self perception is the leading factor of self confidence. If your perception of yourself is great your confidence will soar, which in turns leaves you fearless, available for success and opportunity. If your self perception of yourself   is garbage you’ll always be a victim of fear and potentially failure with life's worse accessory, no self confidence. I am so glad that Vanessa Simmons came out for the launch of the Pastry Barbie with her sister Angela, I was starting to believe she was somewhere pregnant and hiding...where you been girl?! Is it just me or does Vanessa look as if she is putting on in these pics? Homegirl doesn't look genuinely happy to be there. Could it be a little sisterly rivalry? Or 'Nessa just may be sick and tired of the lime light, we know Angela loves every bit of it. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 9 months to see Vanessa again...I'd still love to see her acting or maybe a reality show of her own. Either way, teaming up with Barbie is a good look for them and their brand...great work girl$!!! Anywho, unless you were under a rock or watching the NBA finals, you saw Beyonce's fantabulous performance of "Run The World" as well as being honored for the Billboard Millennium Award. I thought the tribute spoke volumes on her character and career. To not only have the First Lady of  the United States (FLOTUS) speak so eloquently and highly of you but your family as well on such a stage is awesome for anyone at her age. Most people don't receive these types of accolades so young or until their successful careers are dayum near over. If I were to take the critical approach I would say how did she do this with only three solo albums with much of her success being in the group Destiny's Child? Anywho, looking at the FLO

Halle Berry can wear a suit!!! You can always see Halle in a beautiful gown or dress and also around town being hounded by the press in her wonderful effortless style digs, but another style that I have grown to love on Halle is her suits. Halle is known to wear some of  the most flattering tailored to perfection pant suits. I'm not talking your everyday office manager pant suit, I'm talking classic yet trendy looks. This outfit is a perfect demonstration of dressing your age but still being sexy. I can see how this outfit may be a in frown in some eyes, I wouldn't wear it, but I say Janet is working the hell out of this Haider Ackrerman look at the 2011 amfAR's Cinema Against AIDS Gala. That's the funny and perfect thing about fashion, you can make it your own fitting to your style preference and with the charm of confidence it can be a hit. Last night Jay Z came out to perform at the 2011 Adult Swim Upfront (this is how networks showcase their upcoming season) in NYC and also semi debuted his much needed hair cut. Yes, ladies and gentleman, Jay has gotten rid of the nappy ush bush that's he's been sporting for the last few months. If I were Beyonce I'd be mad as shit that he couldn't cut it for the MET Ball, even if it was due to his recording a week early wouldn't have made a difference. Anywho, the event took place at the Roseland Ballroom with many of Jay's hip hop friends in attendance...there's a small buzz about Jay developing an animated series with the network, we shall see. Over this weekend twin Tamera Mowry wed her now husband, Fox News Channel correspondent Adam Housley,  in Nappa Valley, California. The bride looked stunning in a Carolina Herrera strapless gown. I've always liked Tia and Tamera Mowry, unlike most child stars growing up in the public eye you've never heard anything bad about them. Not one drunken night on the town or a sex tape, nothing . Either they're publicist(s) are very good or their parents just raised some awesome girls, I believe the latter, these are two very classy young ladies. Tia's dress was very appropriate as well as beautiful for an expecting bridesmaid...
