Nas And Lauryn Hill To The Rescue

Everybody and their Mama (except Nicki Minaj) performed last night at the Hot 97 2012 Summer Jam concert at MetLife Stadium in New York.

Nicki Nicki Nicki was suppose to headline with a slew of surprise guests, that everybody already knew about, but was quickly snatched by her weave and told not to perform by the Young Money CEO/HNIC/Bawse/President Lil Wayne. The reason Lil Wayne told Nicki to hold her mule was because Hot 97 DJ Peter Rosenberg made some not so nice, but very common, remarks over on the pre-show stage about Nicki's music that didn't sit well with her camp.

Here's what he said to say that prompted Nicki to disappoint her fans instead of responding:

"I know there are some chicks here waiting to sing 'Starships' later, I'm not talking to y'all right now, f-ck that bullshit.Bullshit! I'm here to talk about real Hip-Hop shit."

Yep...that right there got shit shut down. I wonder what would have happened if he flat out said her ass was fake?

Anywho instead of grabbing a mic and saying their eff yous LIVE Wayne and Nicki took to their Twitter accounts to express their emotions.

Wayne:

"Young Money ain't doing summer jam."

(BTW Tyga did perform)

Nicki:

"Wow. U ni**az just f**ckd up history. But the President has spoken. #YMCMB"
"I go above and beyond for my fans. But won't ever go against wayne's word. What he says, goes."

Nas and Lauryn weren't the only acts from Nicki's extensive guest list who performed in her absence but I am of the opinion they were the only news worthy performance...

I hope Nicki or some paper shuffler at Cash Money sent Nas along with Lauryn and all her kids a thank you card.
