Congrats to Serena Williams on being named Sportsperson of the Year by Sports Illustrated !!! However, I need to know why THIS pose was appropriate? I don't even want to get into the "editing" of the photo which looks more like my ass than hers. But seriously, were there no tennis paraphernalia on hand at this shoot? Does everything have to be about sex? On another note, the hair and make up are on POINT.

Still proud and ecstatic about all Serena Willaims has done on the court this year... Better luck next time....there will be a next time!!

If there ever was a such thing as bitter sweet victory Serena Williams beating her older sister Venus Williams at yesterdays US Open quarter-finals has to be ONE. Both women deserve to be championed. Far beyond worthy of their successes. “ She’s the toughest opponent I’ve ever played in my life and the best person I know. It’s going against your best friend and at the same time going against the greatest competitior in women’s tennis. ” - Serena Williams The match was very close with Serena winning by one point. Now at number 1, Willaims will move on to the semi-finals on Thursday in New York. With the hopes of being the first woman in history since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win all four majors in a single year. I am so proud to write this post. Serena AND Venus are a breath of fresh air when it comes to positive images of women in the media. And speaking of positive images, Oprah and Gayle King were on hand to witness history as well as Donald Trump , Nas ...

Serena Williams spent the night before she battles her sister Venus Williams on the court for the 27th time at the US Open quarterfinals with pal  Kim Kardashian. The two shared an intimate Italian dinner in NYC captured by Kardashin for social media sharing. Sipping & spilling the tea tonight with Serena ☕️🐸 pic.twitter.com/1lTLzYzE1T — Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) September 8, 2015 You can say a lot oabot Kim Kardashian but her choice in friends are grand. Many people are of the opinion that Kim (and fam) uses celebrities of a certain caliber and organic talent for their benefit. But c'mon, is Serena that NAIVE? I wonder if that tea spillage had anything to do with Drake? Or maybe Kim was her good luck charm like she was for Reggie Bush . Don't even get me started on Kim's tennis appropriate attire should she show face today. Anywho, congrats to the Williams sisters and their achievements...they already WON!!

Well, you don't say?! In a recent interview with VLAD TV Common stated the obvious we were thinking for a long time now. That he and Drake 's beef, that Common initiated, was in part due to his break up with Serena Williams . “For me, I think it was an emotional thing,” he expressed. “Meaning, I was feeling like, at that time I think it was the Drake/Serena situation. I didn’t know what was going on with that. I ain’t know if he was throwing things, shots at me. Like you know, this is my ex and you know we’re kinda going our separate ways.”    “Unfortunately the war might have been over a girl, even though at the time I never said that. But it wasn’t totally that, it was more or less, ‘Do you respect me? Because I actually like you as an artist.’”   “Now it’s like nothing but love,” Common continued. “I ain’t on that.”   “The reason we can be at peace now is because we had a face to face talk. You know, this where I am with it. We had a good conver...

Oh, NO...say it ain't so!! Both sisters?!! Yep, both tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams on yesterday fell to the demise of their opponents during the French Open. Serena, the French Open's defending champ, lost in the second round to  Garbine Muguruza  of Spain. Sister Venus also was defeated yesterday by  Anna Schmiedlova of Slovakia  just before her sister played her disappointing match. The two sisters were expected by many to make it to the end for a Williams vs. Williams match. This setback for the Williams sisters just may be affording them the opportunity for a mega comeback. You can't win 'em all. With that said, I congratulate the Williams sisters on their successes and the history they've made over the years and I believe for many years to come. They're still champs in my eyes...black girls rock!!

While tennis pro Serena Williams is making headlines professionally today for cruising into the third round of the 2013 US Open she is also making them personally in an in depth interview with   DuJour magazine. Read along as Serena talks about her privacy or lack thereof , learning to love her curves and potentially tiring of tennis. What's your routine like on the day of a big match? If I'm playing at night, I go to the gym in the morning and then just relax. I try not to think about the match, but of course, it's all I can think about.   Is there a specific meal you always eat before you play? I'm not really a superstitious person, so I always try to mix it up. I've been trying to eat a lot healthier—lots of veggies, green juice and fish.   Is it impossible for you to go out in public without getting recognized? I could never go to places like [Starbucks]—I have to send someone out for me. I really don't like to say no to pictures, ...

Top-seeded Serena Williams went into the Rogers Cup yesterday almost effortlessly dominating her opening opponent   Francesca Schiavone of Italy at Rexall Center in Toronto for the win. Serena Williams jetted off from fun in the sun in Miami to London for the mens 2014 Spring/Summer collections where took in the sights of a Burberry show. Maybe there is a different vibe and effect in person to this look. Serena has way too much money to come off looking this way.

Over the weekend in Miami Serena Williams was spotted having a little beach fun with a couple of friends just a week after her French Open win. Tennis does that body good and a little gym time I'm sure . Are you motivated?

Serena Williams won the French Open title Saturday (June 8) over Maria Sharapova only 11 years after her first title win back in 2002. "I think it's unbelievable. Now I have 16 Grand Slam titles. It's difficult for me to speak because I'm so excited." - SW I think it's beyond exciting and historic to see this young African American woman shattering records while having such longevity in her field of sport. This is what young women should aspire to be, not famous or the next Serena Williams, but positive and dedicated. Serena is inspiring young girls far beyond the tennis court and that alone is worth the congratulations. I wish this woman nothing but good things. This win was very major for Serena having had a devastating French Open loss last year. Pics: Getty Images Europe

The below photograph began to surface over the weekend of Beyonce , Jay Z , Nas and Kanye West at Kanye's 36th birthday party in NYC with Beyonce looking as if she had a cigar in her hand with many speculating to it being marijuana but you know I saw it differently...how 'bout y'all? I think she's playing with her hair but I moreso wonder about who took and leaked the pic. I know Kanye can't be too happy with this or is he only mad when his photo is taken with Kim....? More on this party to come but let's stick with Beyonce who was busy this weekend enjoying not only a night out for Kanye's born day but she spent some time in Brooklyn with her daughter Blue Ivy and family. Check out Bey and Baby Blue in what looks like a hot tub but I know even Beyonce knows better.
