If there ever was a such thing as bitter sweet victory Serena Williams beating her older sister Venus Williams at yesterdays US Open quarter-finals has to be ONE. Both women deserve to be championed. Far beyond worthy of their successes. “ She’s the toughest opponent I’ve ever played in my life and the best person I know. It’s going against your best friend and at the same time going against the greatest competitior in women’s tennis. ” - Serena Williams The match was very close with Serena winning by one point. Now at number 1, Willaims will move on to the semi-finals on Thursday in New York. With the hopes of being the first woman in history since Steffi Graf in 1988 to win all four majors in a single year. I am so proud to write this post. Serena AND Venus are a breath of fresh air when it comes to positive images of women in the media. And speaking of positive images, Oprah and Gayle King were on hand to witness history as well as Donald Trump , Nas ...

Larry Busacca/Getty Images North America Did y'all tune in the the 57th annual Grammy Awards last night on CBS? Well I did...I mean, I tried. Although the  awards typically send me into give up mode by the first 20 minutes due to having no idea who half the people are, unlike the BET Awards, I however rejoiced with the winners. Especially the new artists. I can only imagine what is going through their minds...hell even their mothers and friends minds at that moment when their name is called as a Grammy award winner. The shock, all the tears, pain and self doubt that lead to that point must be exhilarating. But other than that I wasn't tuned into the Grammys. Missed Beyonce ...   by YardieGoals I saw some of the Rihanna performance of FourFiveSeconds featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney which I thought was nice. Kanye did however almost pull a Kanye during the acceptance speech for Album of the Year for which Beck received, Jay Z was s...

Serena Williams won the French Open title Saturday (June 8) over Maria Sharapova only 11 years after her first title win back in 2002. "I think it's unbelievable. Now I have 16 Grand Slam titles. It's difficult for me to speak because I'm so excited." - SW I think it's beyond exciting and historic to see this young African American woman shattering records while having such longevity in her field of sport. This is what young women should aspire to be, not famous or the next Serena Williams, but positive and dedicated. Serena is inspiring young girls far beyond the tennis court and that alone is worth the congratulations. I wish this woman nothing but good things. This win was very major for Serena having had a devastating French Open loss last year. Pics: Getty Images Europe

Are y'all feeling Beyonce's  Osman Yousefzada jumpsuit she wore to the Grammys last night? Look! I'm biased as hell when it comes to Beyonce so I don't think that I really need to say how I feel about the 'fit but I will. The outfit was really causal but it works for a 17 time Grammy award winner one of which (Best Traditional R&B Performance for 'Love On Top') she won before stepping foot on the red carpet. Just any ole body could pull this look off at the Grammys. It's not fair but it's true...let's not make this a trend, I live for the Grammy gowns and tuxes.

Serena Williams won another accolade this weekend for her talents on the tennis court. After Sunday's big win at the US Open in New York Serena can now be called a 4 time winner of the tournament. I just love how Serena celebrates (and flaunts). Again, Serena is having the best year ever...just last month she won the gold at the Olympics!! Check out Serena this morning on CBS This Morning.

Team USA took home the gold yesterday after beating Spain in a 107 -100 win in the 2012 Summer Olympics. I want send a heartfelt congrats to my boo 'Melo and all his accomplishments during the 2012 Summer Olympics. And a super congrats to LeBron James for becoming only the second NBA player EVER to win the regular-season MVP, NBA title, the NBA Finals MVP and gold medal in the same season. The only other NBA baller to claim this fame was Michael Jordan. Now what can they say about LeBronze now?!!! Also Kevin Durant deserves some recognition and a congrats. Although this wasn't the NBA title he was shooting for this has to be one helluva consolation prize. Anywho, congrats to the fellas and also congrats to the USA Women's Basketball team for taking home the gold as well beating out France.

Allyson Felix took home the gold for the 200 meter race after two previous failed attempts in 2204 and 2008 Olympics. Fellow US sprinter Carmelita Jeter took home the bronze in the same race. While Sanya Richards-Ross came in fifth while already having won the gold in the 400 meter earlier this week. Good 'head sistahs !!!

and Team USA!! My boo Carmelo broke the record last night for the most points scored in an Olympic game by 6 points. Melo scored a whopping 37 points last night while Stephon Marbury held the title at 31. Team USA as whole broke the record for most points scored in a game. Go Team USA!!!
