This is what I like to call graduation season. Typically around Mother's Day weekend we begin to see an influx of students and families celebrating the accomplishments of graduating college and/or high school students. Along with this time of the season we tend to see celebrities, and the First Lady , delivering commencement speeches at colleges as well as obtaining their very own honorary degrees. For instance, rapper/actor Common received his honorary degree and delivered the commencement speech at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina this past weekend. At the 137th White House annual Easter Egg Roll yesterday our First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed over 30,000 guests to her home but what they weren't expecting was a dance performance featuring the FLOTUS and the So You Think You Can Dance all-stars. Marking the fifth anniversary of her Let Move! campaign (# GimmeFive ) to fight childhood obesity Mrs. Obama, in true fashion, gave the audience a well choreographed dance routine. From past experiences, even just last week , we knew Mrs. Obama could bust a move but every time she does is like the first time all over again. I love my first family!!

During a visit to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis last week First Lady Michelle Obama gave an impromptu press conference where the children she visited with were the reporters who asked Mrs. Obama a wide range of questions. Mrs. Obama was very forth coming with her responses which happened to be highly newsworthy. The Washington Post has put together the five most interesting questions and answers from the Q&A session. 1.  The president is the target for most of the family's pranks, though Sasha and Malia need to work on the element of surprise . Asked whom she likes to prank the most, Obama replied, "Oh, the president," prompting laughter.  "We love to scare each other. Malia and Sasha, they always try to scare us. They’re real bad at it, too, because they’re loud. You can give them tips? There’s a lot of scaring going on." Although First Lady Michelle Obama gave fair warning a couple weeks ago when Malia Obama was photographed in LA this weekend in Chicago the teen followed strict orders when it came to being photographed...well almost. While attending Lollapalooza in Chicago over the weekend the teen was spotted by fellow attendees while enjoying the music festival. Social media reporters tweeted about her appearance including the presence of secret service and the countless denials she gave that she couldn't take pics. Today Jennifer Lopez had the honor of introducing First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2014  League of United Latin American Citizens ( LULAC) Convention, which seeks to empower Latinos, today in NYC. But I'm sure JLo likes the selfie she posted of she and FLOTUS beyond the introduction. It's so wonderful to have such personable people in the White House. Now the pic of Mrs. Obama and Jenny was cute but I must say I wasn't feeling Jen's ensemble and overall look. First Lady Michelle Obama opted to stay in Hawaii after her holiday with the First Family to spend a little time with The Big O . That's right!! Mrs. O is chilling on a girls vacay, no word on Gayle's attendance, with Oprah Winfrey in what many are deeming a pre-birthday celebration. This year FLOTUS will be turning the big 5-0 and what better way to start the turn than chilling at Oprah's 12-bedroom Maui residence. Michelle Obama  is spending the last, fleeting days of her 40s at Oprah's palatial Maui estate ... law enforcement sources on the island tell TMZ. A photog on the island tells TMZ ... Last night in Washington DC President Obama and the first family attended the annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. It was star a star studded event which included a performance by Mariah Carey. Check out the Obamas and few other familiar faces.

Malia Obama, 15, the daughter of my President and First Lady, was recently given the honor of being named one of   TIME magazine's 16 Most Influential Teens of 2013 . At high-profile events, like her father’s second Inaugural Address, Malia and her sister, Sasha, act with the poise of adults. Thanks in part to Michelle Obama, they seem to lead as normal lives as they can while still meeting the demands of being in the limelight. (Such as 15-year-old Malia’s satirical send up in the  Onion .) President Obama often mentions his daughters in speeches, and says that they influenced his stance on gay marriage. I'm sure President and Mrs. Obama are very proud of this prestige honor for their eldest daughter. Up next little Miss Sasha!!

First Lady Michelle Obama shocked and awed many back in January of this year with her bangs and still almost daily with her sophisticated style. In keeping with her evolving look the stunning 49 year old has highlighted her hair. It looks as if Mrs. Obama debuted her new hair earlier this month before a trip to Orlando. POTUS and FLOTUS en route to Florida August 10. But it wasn't until Mrs. Obama's 2013 Authur Ashe Kids Days appearance in NYC that I noticed the lightened tresses (I'm always late). Anywho, my lateness doesn't take away from the fact that our FLOTUS looks fabulous and vibrant with her new head of golden sun kissed highlights. You can catch First Lady Michelle Obama's new hair in action at a recent screening of Powerbroker at the White House earlier this week.

It's official, Mrs. Obama's bangs have arrived via the cover of Vogue Magazine's April 2013 issue . I'm pretty sure you know what the conversation between Mrs. Obama and Vogue entails but you can't help but to wait in anticipation to read it. I simply love how open and candid the Obamas are all while being one of the most elite families in the world. Yeah, I said it. Although President Obama has the outside issues of the world to handle Mrs. Obama makes it very well known that their first priorities are Sasha and Malia. “Ninety percent of our conversation is about these girls: What are they doing? And who’s got what practice? And what birthday party is coming up?  You know, I mean, it is  endless  and it gets to be pretty exhausting, and if you take your eye off the ball,  that’s  when their lives become inelastic.” source

Mrs. Obama got her groove on with a wig and cardigan wearing Jimmy Fallon on Late Night  all in the name of her campaign  "Let's Move" on it's third anniversary.  

I've been meaning to post about First Lady Michelle Obama's moment of realness at President Obama's inaugural luncheon for days now but it simply missed my fingers. Anywho, I simply died inside when Michelle Obama gave House Speaker John Boehner (you know, the guy that talked shit about the President) the eye roll from hell. He didn't tap her like that tho?!! Anywho, it's being speculated by expert mouth readers (lol) that Boehner asked Mr. Obama if he'd had a chance to smoke a cigarette yet and THEN tapped Mrs. Obama jokingly stating that "somebody" wouldn't let him have one. Now he knows Mrs. Obama is all about healthy living and probably hates him more than Mr. Obama smoking but bless his poor heart because he was probably trying to break the ice in the most uncomfortable setting in his life. This has to be the most hilarious thing I've seen thus far in 2013.

The best part of the Inaugural parade, other than a too hype Vice President Biden being over joyed to be out of his limo, was seeing the first family sitting in the reviewing stands like any other normal family at an event. The girls were taking pics, dancing, and getting the side eye from their mom while President Obama was ignoring his possibly drunk colleague all while appearing to not give two shits that cameras were on them or better yet as if they were acting to be on their best practiced behavior. I would love to know where or to who the pictures Malia and Sasha Obama was taking were going to? They must have some very trustworthy friends because I know for a fact if I was friends with them I'd at least tell me my mom, who would then tell my aunts who would then tell about 15 other people and somewhere down this line a friend of a friend is calling TMZ. Anywho, this was a proud day in black America!

Our First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama didn't disappoint for a second time during her husband, P resident Barack Obama's Inaugural festivities. Let's start things off right with the Inaugural swearing-in ceremony yesterday. Mrs. Obama was spotted headed to church in in an awesome Thom Browne jacquard swing coat and silver heels but due to the ignorantly insane weather yesterday here in DC Mrs. Obama had to trade in her bare legs for knee boots but added a little bling sash and deep violet leather gloves from J.
