Ron Galella, Ltd./WireImage; Jon Furniss/Invision/AP, File With all the opinions, anxious awaiting and quite a few different casting calls the first look at the made for television biopic ' Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B ', starring Nickelodeon star  Alexandra Shipp as Aaliyah ,   is ready for our viewing pleasure. Starring:  Alexandra Shipp, Rachael Crawford, Sterling Jarvis, A.J. Saudin, Lyriq Ben, Anthony Grant, Izaak Smith, Elise Neal, Chattrisse Dolabaille Be sure to tune into Lifetime on November 15 for the premiere of  'Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B' .

If I were Lifetime I would can every biopic they've been coming up with lately. These families want the big screen and to run the show...you have to let them do at least one. Anywho, Cissy Houston spoke to Entertainment Tonight regarding her dislike for the upcoming made for television movie for her late daughter Whitney Houston . "Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family's objections. No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby," she said in a statement to ET. "In the two years since Whitney's death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn't know her. We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please please let her rest....

The role of Bobby Brown in the upcoming Whitey Houston biopic has been revealed and I must say I am not sold.  Belize-born actor  Arlen Escarpata scored the coveted role (I was hoping Bobby would play himself) and I have the visuals to prove it. I'm not going to put too much thought into the dude's look because the movie director  Angela Bassett IMO looked nothing like Tina Turner except for her physique and I think she nailed the role...and let's not get started on Laurence Fishburne as Ike Turner .  Do you know how stunned I was when I finally saw what Ike Turner looked like!?!! I'll watch the flick to judge Arlen any further...but they better add some leather to his wardrobe and hire a dance coach.

Yaya DaCosta of America's Next Top Model fame has the honor of playing the late Whitney Houston in a Lifetime made for television biopic directed by Angela Bassett . Although the film just began filming Entertainment Weekly has acquired the first image of DaCosta as Houston. The photo is a recreation of Whitney's 1987 Whitney album. “I just looked at the picture and did the pose!” - YD Spot on, huh? Let's just hope the acting matches the visuals... BTW, was the hell is Whiteny Houston getting a made for TV movie?!

To many parents Zendaya may be known for Disney roles and some may know her better from season 16 of   Dancing With The Stars but if casting directors are correct she will be known soon for her role as the late great Aaliyah Haughton . Lifetime has green lit the made for television movie Aaliyah: Princess of R&B and the casting of the role of Aaliyah's has kicked off the media buzz. What do you think about Zendaya portraying Aaliyah? Reportedly she will sing Aaliyah's music as well. Zendaya dressed as Aaliyah for Dream Halloween last year. I'm just a 17 year old girl who got cast to play one of her biggest inspirations #positive — Zendaya (@Zendaya) June 17, 2014 Here's the thing, I can see her as Aaliyah but even if I couldn't the way she sings or mimics Aaliyah's personality will tell all. I just like the fact that I am not too familiar with her to judge her outright beforehand. We shall see come this fall or maybe not...Aaliyah...

Toni Braxton has been working hard lately in NYC while participating in the 2013 The Heart Truth fashion show and promoting her starring role in a new Lifetime movie Twist of Faith which will have her son Diezel, who is autistic, making an appearance in the movie alongside her. Check out Toni this AM braving the cold while hitting the morning show circuit in NYC and her debut at The Heart Truth fashion show. Twist of Faith premieres this Saturday at 8pm on Lifetime.

'Betty & Coretta' is a Lifetime network movie based on the lives of the slain Dr. Martin King, Jr. , and Malcolm X 's widows after their untimely deaths. Angela Bassett will play the role of Coretta Scott King while Mary J. Blige will play the role of Dr. Betty Shabazz . Have a look at the preview of what we can expect along with character analysis. Betty & Coretta will premiere February 2 at 8pm on Lifetime. I don't know about Mr. Yoba as Dr. King... Hopefully I'm surprised.

I can't believe this show is ready to air in a little over a week... The Houstons: On Our Own is catered around Bobbi Kristina by way of Pat and Gary Houston , Cissy Houston and others family members which also include Bobbi Kris' step brother/boyfriend Nick Gordon . This seems as if it's going to be a hot ass mess. Am I suppose to be impressed that this is on Lifetime and not VH1 or BET? I am still in awe that this ENTIRE family is okay with this show airing. I don't give a dayum if Whitney had died 6 six years ago, all is obviously not right with this clan. Will you be tuned in October 24th? In an effort to try and understand this, maybe the family is doing this show in an attempt to stay close to Bobbi. Maybe their doing this show guarantees that they see and communicate with her on a regular basis had they not did this show they may have not been able to do so easily. Maybe...
