Cissy Houston Is Not Fond Of Whitney Houston Biopic
Anywho, Cissy Houston spoke to Entertainment Tonight regarding her dislike for the upcoming made for television movie for her late daughter Whitney Houston.
"Lifetime has chosen to go ahead with the movie about Whitney in spite of my family's objections. No one connected with this movie knew Whitney or anything about her relationship with Bobby," she said in a statement to ET. "In the two years since Whitney's death, many people have stepped forward to speak about their close relationship with her. I find it difficult to believe people who knew and supposedly loved her would participate in a movie about her done by folks who didn't know her. We are exhausted by the continuing misinformation and comments offered by people who did not know her. Please please let her rest."My biggest issue with biopics are how well the story is told. Is it accurate, purposely false, fabricated or just a stupid story. In no way was Whitney's life nor career stupid but how much of what we're going to see could be true with her loved ones not contributing the bulk of the details?
And you learn something new everyday...
Directed by actress Angela Bassett, the biopic will feature Houston's music, but not her voice -- R&B singer Deborah Cox will provide the vocals for her hit songs.
Houston and Brown's daughter Bobbi Kristina, 21, has also been outspoken about her disapproval for the upcoming film, specifically, not being cast by Bassett to play her mother. She has since deleted the tweets she posted blasting Bassett.
